How to Make a Projector with a Mobile Display: A Simple Guide
In todays fast-paced world, convenience is key. Everything is expected to be easily accessible, including our entertainment. A mobile display projector is the perfect solution for those who seek an immersive viewing experience on the go. Whether youre watching your favorite movie, scrolling through social media, or giving a presentation, a mobile display projector can provide a bigger screen for your viewing pleasure. Heres how you can easily make a projector using a mobile display.
To start, youll need a few supplies:
- A lens (magnifying, or fresnel)
- A cardboard box with the size of your preference (make sure its sturdy)
- A cutter or scissors
- A mobile device
- A light source (LED or compact fluorescent light (CFL))
- Glue or tape
- Aluminum foil (optional)
Step 1: Prepare your cardboard box by cutting off the excess flaps, leaving only the front.
Step 2: On the front surface of the box, cut a rectangle, with its height a couple of centimeters larger than your phones display height, and its length should be thrice as much. Make sure to leave a border around the rectangle.
Step 3: Cut another rectangle on the opposite side of your first one, making sure the rectangles measurement is the same as the one on the front surface. It would be best to cut this rectangle in the center of the back surface.
Step 4: On the left and right sides of the back surface, create two slits. These slits should be big enough to hold your lens.
Step 5: Using your phones display size as a reference, place your lens in one of the slits and adjust it to ensure that its not loose.
Step 6: Use glue or tape to attach the lens in place on the slit.
Step 7: Use aluminum foil to cover the borders and the insides of the device. This will help reflect and maximize the image to create a brighter and clear image.
Step 8: Place your phones display on the surface of the cardboard with the camera looking into the box.
Step 9: Place your light source outside the box, facing towards your phone; this will project the image onto the surface. Be sure to adjust your phones display brightness for optimal viewing.
