How to Make a Mini Film Projector: Simple DIY Guide
Film projectors have been around for over a century, and while they may be less common with the advent of digital media, there’s still something inherently magical about the warm, flickering light of a projector. Instructions:
1. Start by cutting a viewing window in one side of the cardboard box using the box cutter or knife. Be sure to leave enough room around the edges to support the magnifying glass.
2. Fit the magnifying glass over the hole you just cut, and use the hot glue gun to secure it in place. Be sure to glue around the entire edge of the magnifying glass to ensure a tight, secure fit.
3. Next, cut a small slot (about 1 inch wide) on the opposite side of the box, near the top. This will act as your projector lens, allowing the light to shine through and project your movie or video.
4. Cut a piece of black construction paper or cardboard to fit around the inside edges of the box, covering up any gaps between the magnifying glass and the box. This will minimize any light leakage and provide a more focused image.
5. Finally, paint or cover the entire box in black to prevent any external light from entering and disrupting your projection, and to complete the classic projector look.
