How to Make Your Own Phone Projector: A Step-by-Step Guide
Are you tired of squinting at a small phone screen when watching videos or movies? Have you ever wanted to share a video or presentation with a group of friends or colleagues but didnt have a projector at hand? Well, fear not! With just a few simple materials and some DIY know-how, you can make your own phone projector in no time.
Heres what you will need:
- A cardboard box (big enough to fit your phone)
- A magnifying glass (larger ones work better)
- A hobby knife or scissors
- A black marker
- Duct tape
- A ruler
- A piece of white paper or thin white card
Step 1: Cut the cardboard box
Using the hobby knife or scissors, cut out one side of the cardboard box, leaving three of the sides and the bottom intact. This cut-out opening should be just a little larger than your phone.
Step 2: Attach the magnifying glass
Hold the magnifying glass in place over the cut-out opening so that it acts as a lens. Use the black marker to trace around the edge of the magnifying glass on the cardboard. Then, use the hobby knife or scissors to cut out the traced circle.
Step 3: Secure the magnifying glass
Place the magnifying glass over the cut-out circle and tape it in place using duct tape.
Step 4: Create a phone holder
On the opposite side of the box from the magnifying glass, measure and mark the halfway point along the top and bottom edges of the box. Then, using the ruler and hobby knife or scissors, cut two small slits along these lines, each about 1cm long. These will hold your phone in place.

Take the piece of white paper or thin white card and bend it to form a stand. This will hold the projector at the right angle. Tape one end of the stand to the back of the cardboard box, and fold the other end down to support the front of the box.

Its time to test your homemade projector! Turn off the lights in a dark room, place your phone inside the slits you cut, and aim the magnifying glass towards the wall or ceiling.
