How Do You Make a Pinhole Projector?

• A box (shoebox or cereal box)
• A sheet of white paper

• A pin (or a needle)

1. Take the box and the sheet of paper, and cover one end of the box (the shorter side) with the paper. Use the tape to secure the paper to the box, making sure there are no gaps.
2. On the other end of the box, cut a square in the center of the box’s surface. Try to make the hole small, about half an inch in diameter.
3. On the outside of the box, tape a piece of aluminum foil over the hole. Make sure the surface is smooth and flat.

6. Stand behind the box, and you should see a small projected image of the sun on the paper. You can adjust the angle of the box to make the image larger or smaller.
