How to Easily Screen Mirror Your iPhone to an LG Projector
If you want to share what you see on your iPhone screen with a larger audience, such as in a meeting, presentation, or movie night, you can use a projector. However, instead of connecting a cable to your iPhone, which can limit your mobility and sometimes require adapters, you can wirelessly mirror your iPhone to an LG projector, which is simple and convenient. Prepare your iPhone and LG projector
Before you start the screen mirroring, make sure your iPhone and LG projector meet the following requirements:
- iPhone: iOS 11 or later; Wi-Fi and Bluetooth turned on; connected to the same Wi-Fi network as the LG projector; no other AirPlay or screen mirroring enabled
- LG projector: Wi-Fi Direct or Screen Share turned on; connected to the same Wi-Fi network as the iPhone (or just turn off its Wi-Fi and use Wi-Fi Direct only); in the same room as the iPhone; no other device connected to the projectors Screen Share
- Note: Some LG projectors may use a different protocol or name for their screen mirroring feature, such as Miracast, Mirroring, or SmartShare.
Enable screen mirroring on your iPhone and LG projector
Once youve prepared your devices, you can enable screen mirroring as follows:
On iPhone:
1. Swipe up from the bottom edge of the screen to open Control Center.
2. Tap the Screen Mirroring button (an rectangle with a triangle inside).
3. Select your LG projector from the list of available devices. (If you dont see it, make sure its turned on and connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your iPhone. If its still not visible, try restarting both devices.)
4. Enter the AirPlay mirroring password if prompted. (By default, its the same as your iPhone passcode or the last four digits of your iPhone serial number. You can change it by going to Settings > AirPlay & Handoff > AirPlay Password.)
On LG projector:
1. Press the Screen Share or Wi-Fi Direct button on the remote control or the projectors menu.
2. Select either Screen Share or Wi-Fi Direct from the list of available options. (Wi-Fi Direct is faster and more stable but may require a separate password on some projectors.)
3. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the pairing and connection. (Note that the steps may differ depending on your LG projector model and firmware version.)
Start screen mirroring from your iPhone to LG projector
Once the screen mirroring is enabled on both devices, you can start displaying your iPhone screen on the LG projector as follows:
1. Use your iPhone as you normally would to open and navigate apps, websites, documents, or media content.
2. The mirrored screen will be displayed on the LG projector automatically, without any delay or distortion, and with sound if applicable.
3. You can use gestures, such as pinch, swipe, or tap, to control the size, position, and orientation of the mirrored screen, or switch to another app or content.
End screen mirroring on your iPhone and LG projector
To stop the screen mirroring on either device, simply do the following:
On iPhone:
1. Swipe up from the bottom edge of the screen to open Control Center.
2. Tap the Screen Mirroring button.
3. Tap the Disconnect button. (Alternatively, you can lock your iPhone or open another app, which will also end the screen mirroring automatically.)
On LG projector:
1. Press the Back or Exit button on the remote control.
2. Select Yes or OK when asked if you want to stop Screen Share or Wi-Fi Direct.
