How to Make a Projector with a Cereal Box: A DIY Guide
Have you ever wished to have a home theater but dont want to spend a lot of money on a projector? Well, theres good news for you! With just a cereal box, some basic materials, and a smartphone, you can build your own projector.
Before we start, lets talk about how this works. The idea is to enlarge the image produced by the smartphone by using a magnifying glass and reflecting the image onto a larger surface. The cereal box is used to enclose the system and project the image.
What youll need:
- A cereal box
- A magnifying glass (the larger, the better)
- Scissors
- Duct tape
- Black paper
- A smartphone
- A ruler
- A pencil
Instructions:
1. First, cut off one of the shorter sides of the cereal box, leaving three sides intact.
2. Cut a rectangular hole in the center of the intact side of the box, making sure its the same size as your magnifying glass.
3. Tape the magnifying glass over the hole on the inside of the box.
4. Cut a small hole on the opposite side of the box to accommodate your smartphones camera lens and place it in the box (with the lens pointing towards the magnifying glass).
5. Use the black paper to line the inside of the box, making sure there are no light leaks.
6. Turn on your smartphones torch light and put it inside the box, facing the magnifying glass.
7. Close the lid of the cereal box and turn off the lights.
8. Adjust the distance between the magnifying glass and the smartphone until you see a clear image projected on the wall.
Congratulations! Youve just created your own projector using minimal components. Although the quality of the image will not be as good as a high-end projector, its an excellent and low-cost option to enjoy movies, TV shows, and educational content.
In conclusion, with just a few simple steps, a cereal box, and a smartphone, you can transform a plain room into a home theatre. So, gather your materials, DIY your projector, and enjoy your favorite movie with your family and friends! |
