How to Cast AirPlay and DLNA to Your S905W Set-Top Box
Have you ever wanted to cast your favorite TV shows and movies straight from your phone or tablet to your S905W set-top box? With the right tools and software, its easier than you might think!
First, lets talk about AirPlay. AirPlay is a proprietary protocol developed by Apple, which allows you to stream audio and video from an iOS device (such as an iPhone or iPad) to an Apple TV or other compatible device. Unfortunately, the S905W set-top box does not natively support AirPlay. However, there are a few workarounds you can use to get AirPlay working with your S905W:
- Use an AirPlay receiver app: There are several apps available on the Google Play Store that allow your S905W box to receive AirPlay streams from your iOS device. One popular option is AirScreen, which is available for free with ads or as a paid app without ads. Simply install the app on your S905W box, connect your phone or tablet to the same Wi-Fi network, and start casting!
- Use an Apple TV: If you have an Apple TV, you can use AirPlay to stream content to the Apple TV, and then use the Apple TVs HDMI output to connect to your S905W box. This method will require you to have both an Apple TV and an S905W box, but it can provide a seamless streaming experience.
Now, lets talk about DLNA. DLNA (Digital Living Network Alliance) is a standard developed by a group of consumer electronics companies that allows devices to share media across a home network. Many modern smartphones and set-top boxes support DLNA, including the S905W. Heres how to get DLNA working with your S905W:
- Install a DLNA server: In order to share media from your phone or tablet to your S905W box, youll need to install a DLNA server on your device. There are several options available on the Google Play Store, including BubbleUPnP and AllConnect. Once youve installed a DLNA server, simply connect your S905W box to the same Wi-Fi network and start streaming!
- Use your S905W box as a DLNA renderer: In addition to being a DLNA client, the S905W box can also act as a DLNA renderer, allowing it to receive media streams from other devices on your network. This can be useful for sharing media from a PC or other device that doesnt support DLNA natively. To enable DLNA on your S905W box, simply go to the Settings menu and enable "DLNA Renderer".
With these tips, you should be able to enjoy AirPlay and DLNA streaming on your S905W set-top box in no time. Happy streaming! |
