I dont have first-hand experience interacting with Smart Boards, but based on my research, the Smart Board has sensors that detect the position and movement of the pen or finger on the boards surface. These sensors communicate with the computer that is connected to the Smart Board, which then sends the information back to the projector. The projector then displays the image or video on the boards surface based on the position and movement of the pen or finger on the board. Therefore, the Smart Board does not necessarily know where the projector is working, but it knows the position and movement of the pen or finger on its surface, which is used to display the image from the projector.
