How to Connect Your Wii to a New Smart TV
Have you recently upgraded to a brand new smart TV but cant seem to figure out how to connect your beloved Wii console? Fear not, as there are a few simple steps you can follow to get your gaming device up and running on your new television.
First, take a look at the back of your smart TV and locate the input ports. Most TVs will have multiple ports, including HDMI, component, and composite. The Wii will use the AV cable that came with the console, so you’ll need to find the composite input ports on your TV.
Next, plug the yellow end of your AV cable into the yellow video input on your TV, and then plug the red and white audio cables into the corresponding inputs. Once the cables are securely connected, turn on your Wii console and your TV.
Now, it’s time to change the TV input to the one that corresponds to the AV cables you just plugged in. You can do this by using your TV remote and selecting the source or input button, then selecting the composite option. Depending on your TV, this may be labeled differently, but it should be easy to recognize.
Finally, you should see your familiar Wii menu screen on your smart TV, and youre ready to play! If you have any issues, check your TVs settings to ensure its set on the correct input.
One cautionary note: If your TV doesnt have the composite input option, you could still connect your Wii to your smart TV with an HDMI adapter or a Wii-to-HDMI converter. These can be purchased online or at most electronic retailers.
By following these simple steps, you can enjoy playing your favorite Wii games on your new smart TV without missing a step. So plug in that console and start playing! |
