People say Samsung is better, but I will say both are comparable in fairness. Samsung is considered the #1 IT company in the world and in Korea. If you want to save money without suffering quality by a large magnitude, I would get an LG. I believe LG is ahead of Samsung in kitchen appliances while Samsung is way ahead of LG in mobile phones. They probably tied on HDTVs.
