I think an easy way to do it now is by relying on screen mirroring.

Get and launch the app on your phone and TV. Make sure that your phone and TV are on the same Wi-Fi network.
There will be a PIN code displayed on your TV screen. Just click the box with two asterisks on the upper right part of your phone.
Tap “Start Mirroring”, and open the video conferencing app to begin with the meeting.
If you are using an iPhone or iPad, you can also go to the “Control Center” > “Screen Mirroring” then choose the name of your TV to connect. Your phone’s screen will be mirrored on your TV afterwards. Then you can start any video conference and the content will be streamed to your smart TV immediately.
