If you are using Windows 10 you need to do the following:
Connect PC and TV in same network
Click Start > Settings
Open Devices and chose Connected devices from the menu on the left
Click “Add a device”
After the wizard finished just click on your TV follow the configuration and you are good to go!
Sometimes it’s enough to click right click on desktop and go “Display settings”
